A web-accessible database for G. Lettau's epiphytic Black Forest lichen specimens, kept in the Botanical Museum in Berlin-Dahlem

Label information of about 7,500 lichen specimens collected by G. Lettau ca. 1900–1940 on trees and shrubs in the Black Forest (SW Germany) will be databased using the Diversity Workbench module DiversityCollection. The dataset will be consultable via the Internet (web interface Epiphytic Lichens of G. Lettau at B). Since lichens on trees and shrubs are sensitive to various environmental disturbances, the databased information will provide valuable baseline information for the study of environmental changes.
